Hello my beauties!
Starting a blog has been a to do list of mine for many years now. I’ve always put it off because there is just SO MUCH to converse about within the fashion industry. In all honesty I thought it would be much more clean and pretty and organised (yes fact number one, I have a bit of an OCD problem) if I were to base my blog on just one sector, but I though MEH let me be a rebel to my own psyche and talk about anything and everything!
So, welcome to my blog!
No doubt a VERY creative space for all things fashion and maybe lifestyle, let’s just go wherever the wind takes us ay. For now, let me introduce you all to Avyaana. Avyaana is a UK based Abayah company bringing you the best in designs and quality.
Here’s a little background story on what made me start Avyaana. My UK ladies, you all know there is a BIG struggle of finding elegant Abayahs within the UK *Sighhhh* for me when I first started to wear an Abayah (4 years ago) it was a MASSIVE struggle, although I have noticed the Abayah industry has grown quite a bit since then, let me tell you how painful the struggle was for me, I used to make my father drive me half way across the country every week just to check out the stock at this ONE Abayah shop I had found online, (the poor guy never complained once) I would check online EVERY-NIGHT until I became a pro at typing “Abayahs in UK” with my eyes shut, long story short, I would go to extreme measures just to find a decent Abayah. That was one struggle but the other struggle was trying to find a decent Abayah with a reasonable price, these Abayahs I used to find were ca-ray-zeee expensive and they were not even the “Oh-em-gee that Abayah is to die for” type.
I gave up eventually (because my fathers’s credit card was looking at me like, gurl you need to re-lax) I notice my mother had remarkable sewing skills and thought let me ask her to make me an Abayah. So I left her with a picture of a beautiful Abayah, from one of the Dubai fashion shows, and gave her the YOU are my only hope eyes. A week past, and she bought me an Abayah that MY GOD could have passed as the actually Abayah in the picture. Praise the Lord he was good to me ladies, I have not purchased an Abayah since 2013 ;p. I found myself over the years designing new Abayahs for myself and getting compliments on them from anyone and everyone, (non muslims ALWAYS going for the "ooh I like your dress" haha) and I thought I love designing, I’ve received enough compliments to say other people love my designs so why not build something where these designs and the love that goes into making and designing each piece is easily accessible.
Avayaana in essence means: a strong, powerful and beautiful women. Those are exactly what our company represents and the core feelings we want you to feel when you wear any of our Abayahs. Our company represents modesty via elegance and class. How you dress determins how others approaches you, how you feel about yourself, it is what strangers take away when they have an encounter with you, it projects your mood and it definiately speaks without oral communication. This is why we believe a modest women should be nothing but elegant and classy. All our Abayahs are designed with you in mind, to empower you, your image and your confidence. We want you to feel strong, powerful and beautiful!
I take pleasure in inviting all you beauties to this long journey ahead, sit back relax and enjoy the show!
Until next time xoxo (Gossip Girl much?!)
